Future of asia

Ancient custom and old ways are moving aside for a rebirth in asian technology. High tech is leaving the silicon valley and being outsourced to India. Manufacturing plants close in the US, only to reopen in China.

It seems that the axis of power is shifting in a new direction. In the 19th century europe was the powerhouse with steamships, in the 20th century america was the powerhouse with spaceships going to the moon, and in the 21st century asia is the powerhouse with container ships.

In the past, we were told that high tech jobs pay well and that we should all go to college and study hard so later can get a job at a big firm, but reality is that most technical jobs are being outsouced to India.

Why pay a US engineer $60,000/yr when an asian will happily do the work for $6,000 without medical insurance? Why build a factory in the US, when you can get the work done in asia for less than 40 cents an hour.

Huge piles of boxes arrive everyday with products made in China. The trade deficit continues to increase as US factories are shutdown and new ones open in China. We are seeing the US lose the war on trade.

Many breakthrough technologies of the future will be created in asia. It is not just low end products, but the top end too that are being designed in asia. Yes, we were told that outsourcing is good for the economy, but the truth is we were fed a lie.

We are now in a time of change as we see poor countries compete for the few resources of our planet.

Yes, the oil will run out, and gas will become pricey at the pump, but the future is people power as in a pedicab or a rickshaw.

You are seeing that future right now as you look at what is going to happen and what already has.

Yes our future is coming in the form not of robots and flying cars, but people making fifty cents an hour in sweatshop factories. Instead of the big SUV look at the bicycle as the future.

It is said that the world we know will soon be no more, but how will it be different? We are the ones that make that possible.
